3 types of traffic for your business to generate revenue

Aug 11, 2022 | 0 comments

There are only 3 types of traffic to promote your business:

  1. Traffic you own
  2. Traffic you control
  3. Traffic you don’t control

Once you have the ability to drive the traffic to the right offers and convert leads into repeat customers. Your business grows exponentially.

Traffic that you own

I want to start with the best kind of traffic, that is traffic that you own. It’s your email list, followers, readers, and customers.

I can generate instant traffic by writing blogs, creating videos, or by sending emails for the traffic I own. You don’t have to run paid ads, do any SEO or PR.

This is my distribution channel, I can send my message anytime I want, with no new marketing costs.

I can sell them, my products and services repeatedly. These will be my pure profits.

If you increase your email list, you will increase your revenue.

It’s important to convert other types of traffic into traffic you own.

Traffic you control

The next type of traffic is the traffic you control. You control the traffic if you have the ability to tell it where to go.

For example: I can create a Facebook ad and drive traffic to my web page. Though I don’t own the traffic i can send it to my web page.

Any kind of paid traffic and traffic you control. Including below examples:

  • Email ads (solo ads, banners, links, mentions)
  • Pay-per-click ads (Facebook, Google, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Banner ads
  • Native ads

I love paid traffic but i have to pay for it. So to get more out of my paid ads, i send the traffic to my landing page.

The landing page has only one goal to get leads. It is used to collect the Email Id and number of visitors. After you collect data of your visitors, you will own the traffic. Now you can start sending emails or messages to your leads.

Traffic you don’t control

This is last type of traffic, it just shows up and I don’t have its control—- from where it came—where it goes.

For example. If any one search my name on Google, they can go to my website and social media channels.

I don’t have any control of it. Some of the examples include:

  • Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.)
  • Search traffic (search engine optimization or SEO)
  • Guest blog traffic
  • YouTube
  • Interviews

Now, just like traffic that i control, my only goal is to turn traffic i don’t control into traffic that I own. To do this, when the audience visits my web page I place the form on the right to collect their email and number. Then I can send them valuable emails to keep them engaged.

Conclusion

Hope you learnt 3 types of traffic to fill your websites and funnels to generate more ROI.
